Scratchguard is a hard coating that provides increased scratch resistance.
Super Scratchguard is a tough, durable, 2-sided technologically advanced process providing superior scratch resistance and enhanced durability compared to a standard hard coat.
Anti Fog Coating eliminates the "white wall" condensation that occurs during the transition between environments at different temperatures. Whether for safety or convenience, Anti-Fog means the quality of vision is never compromised by condensation.
Distracting reflections and glare can rob your eyes of up to 14% of available light. An Anti-Reflective treatment allows virtually all available light to pass through your lenses for sharper, clearer, more comfortable vision. Recent tests prove that patients are able to see more clearly with an Anti-Reflective treatment, especially under low light conditions when reduced light transmission can seriously affect vision. Anti-reflective treatments also have a special topcoat which makes your lenses easier to clean and care for.
This option provides anti-reflective coated lenses, paired with high performing super-hydrophobic scratch-resistant top coat that provides superior scratch resistance.
Crizal is a premium, anti-reflective coating that is scratch-, glare-, and smudge-resistant. This option delivers maximum durability by integrating anti scratch, anti reflective and hydrophobic coating on both sides of lenses.
TheraBlue selectively filters the damaging HEV Blue Light (Blue Violet) which studies show may lead to Digital Eye Strain, cause permanent eye damage and increase the risk of AMD (Age-Related Macular Degeneration). At the same time, TheraBlue allows for the good Blue Light (Blue Turquoise) to enter the eye, which is known to positively regulate circadian rhythm, memory and cognitive function, elevate moods and boost alertness.
Why is HEV Blue Light protection more important today than in years past? Because we are being bombarded by this HEV Blue Light more than ever and its only going to increase.
Sources of HEV Blue Light:
TheraBlue provides this important protection from the dangers of UV rays and HEV Blue Light.
Transitions lenses are equipped with patented, photochromic dyes that enable the lenses to rapidly activate, or darken, when they are exposed to the sun’s ultraviolet light. The greater the intensity of UV rays, the darker the lenses become. When UV light is no longer present, including indoors or at night, the lenses fade back to their original state.
Light reflected from surfaces such as a flat road or smooth water generally is horizontally polarized. This means that instead of light being scattered in all directions in more usual ways, reflected light generally travels in a more horizontally oriented direction. This creates an annoying and sometimes dangerous intensity of light that we experience as glare. Polarized sunglasses cut glare and haze so your eyes are more comfortable and you can see better.
Tinted lenses can reduce glare, improve contrast, and enhance depth perception. Tints are available in a variety of colors and range from light to dark. Colors include:
Tinted Lenses include an invisible dye that blocks ultraviolet (UV) light. Just as sunscreen keeps the sun's UV rays from harming your skin, UV-protective treatments for eyeglass lenses block those same rays from damaging your eyes. Overexposure to ultraviolet light is thought to be a cause of cataracts, retinal damage and other eye problems. Regular plastic eyeglass lenses block most UV light, but adding a UV-blocking dye boosts UV protection to 100 percent for added safety. Other eyeglass lens materials, including polycarbonate and most high-index plastics, have 100 percent UV protection built-in, so an extra lens treatment is not required for these lenses.
